Drug Uses
Cilostazol is consumed for reduction of symptoms of intermittent claudication, which refers to pain in legs that gets worse when walking and reduces when resting. This is caused by narrowing of blood vessels that supply blood to legs. Cilostazol comes within class of Medication antiplatelet medications (platelet-aggregation inhibitors). It improves the flow of blood to legs that is how it works. This Medication might be prescribed for other uses by your Doctor.
How Taken
Cilostazol comes in tablet form to be consumed orally. The Ideal dosage is 2 times a day. It is supposed to be consumed either 30 minutes before or after 2 hours of breakfast and dinner. It will be good if you consume Cilostazol at around uniform time all the day. Follow all the instructions of Doctor and read the label carefully before consuming Cilostazol. Follow the dosage as directed by the doctor and do not consume more or less as prescribed by the Doctor.
Cilostazol can only control the symptoms of intermittent claudication but this cannot be used to cure the disease. The improvements in conditions might get visible in 2 to 4 weeks time and it may take up to around 12 weeks for the full benefits of consuming Cilostazol to be completely visible. Keep on taking Cilostazol even if you feel well. Before stopping the consumption of Cilostazol do speak to your Doctor.
Missed Dose
If somehow you missed the dose, then immediately take that dose after you remember. However if you get to the nearby time for next dose, skip taking the Missed Dose and continue with your dose taking schedule. Do remember that you never exceed the intake of dose to compensate you missed dosage previously.
Storage
It is advised to store the Medication in the container it came in, tightly sealed. Store the medication at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and light. Dispose of the medication that is outdated or expired. Keep it out of reach of children.

Warning and Precautions
Let your doctor and pharmacist is informed in case you are allergic to Cilostazol or any other antihistamines or any other medication or with any component present in Cilostazol. Inform your Doctor about the other prescription and non prescription Medications you are consuming. Make sure that you mention about any of the following: anticoagulants (''blood thinners'') such as warfarin (Coumadin); aspirin; antifungal medications such as fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), and ketoconazole (Nizoral); antiplatelet medications such as clopidogrel (Plavix), prasugrel (Effient), and ticlopidine (Ticlid); clarithromycin (Biaxin); diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor, Tiazac, others); erythromycin (E-mycin, Ery-Tab, others); fluoxetine (Prozac); fluvoxamine (Luvox); nefazadone; omeprazole (Prilosec); and sertraline (Zoloft). As you Doctor may change the Dosage prescribed or monitor your carefully for any of the side effects. Inform your Doctor in case you have bleeding ulcers (sores in the lining of the stomach or small intestine that are bleeding), bleeding in the brain, bleeding from any other part of your body, a low number of platelets in your blood, or any other condition that causes severe bleeding. As your doctor might advice you not to take Cilostazol. Let your Doctor in case you have any past history of kidney, heart or liver diseases. In case you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant or breast feeding, inform your Doctor. Speak with your doctor immediately if you become pregnant while taking Cilostazol.
