Drug Uses
Breast cancer that has infected other parts of the body can be treated by taking Anastrozole. It may also be used for other complications  as determined by doctor.


How Taken
Swallow the entire Anastrozole tablet before taking. Do not even try to break, crush, or chew before swallowing this medicine. Consult your doctor regarding the dosage suitable for your situation.


Missed Dose
If somehow you missed the dose, then immediately take that dose after you remember. However if you get to the nearby time for next dose, skip taking the Missed Dose and continue with your dose taking schedule. Do remember that you never exceed the intake of dose to compensate you missed dosage previously.


The storage criteria is that do keep the product away from heat, moisture and light and make sure that the temperature of the place where you will keep the product must be between 59–86°F that means 15–30 °C. Make sure that children cannot get in touch with it.

You may need a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment or you may not be able to take this drug at all if you have kidney or liver problems or if you have gastrointestinal problems. Anastrozole may have interaction with the some of the following products– phenytoin, tamoxifen, tolbutamide, torsemide, fluvastatin, a blood thinner such as warfarin, heparin, ardeparin, dalteparin, danaparoid, enoxaparin, or tinzaparin, anistreplase, dipyridamole, streptokinase, ticlopidine, and urokinase. Patients taking the above mentioned drugs should consult a doctor before using the medicine.

Arimidexinteract with the following products– phenytoin (Dilantin); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); tolbutamide (Orinase); torsemide (Demadex); fluvastatin (Lescol); a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin), heparin, ardeparin (Normiflo), dalteparin (Fragmin), danaparoid (Orgaran), enoxaparin (Lovenox), or tinzaparin (Innohep); (Activase), anistreplase (Eminase), dipyridamole (Persantine), streptokinase (Kabikinase, Streptase), ticlopidine (Ticlid), and urokinase (Abbokinase). Patients taking the above mentioned drugs should consult a doctor concerning the dosage and possibility of Arimidexusage.

Arimidex may cause dizziness or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Arimidexis taken with alcohol or certain medicines. Use ArimidexTablets with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you take ArimidexTablets. Proper dental care is important while you are taking ArimidexTablets. Brush and floss your teeth and visit the dentist regularly. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Arimidexshould be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects
Among the possible negative side effects are- severe neutropenia (low white blood cells), thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), hemorrhage (gastrointestinal hemorrhage and cerebral hemorrhage), headache, indigestion, flushing.
